I’ve had a youtube channel for 3 years, but only been an active creator for about a year. In the past 11 months, this youtube channel has grown to over 40,000 subscribers.
Here are 6 tips that I’ve used for my youtube channel to grow from only a few hundred subscribers to now almost 50,000 subscribers.
Tip #1: Have a time commitment: when you are getting started with your youtube channel, it is important to have time committed to creating content and uploading videos on a consistent basis, same days and time of the week.
Tip #2: Study your successful videos: simply study your best performing videos. You will eventually see that some of the videos you upload on youtube will performing exceptionally well than others. Study those videos and see what you did.
Tip #3: Duplicate your success: after you’ve studied your best performing videos, next step is to duplicate and repeat that video, but in a creative way. Don’t just make the same video again and upload, stay creative, use similar titles, thumbs format etc.
Tip #4: Be creative but don’t fix what’s not broken: by that I mean keep creating more content for your channel, and take risks in creating a different type of content if you wish. In the same token, don’t try to fix what’s not broken. If your channel theme is working just fine, no need to change your style or format.
Tip #5: Take a risk and don’t apologize for it: In the same lines of being creative, taking a risk with your content is part of that and sometime you will get nervous as a creator to continue to cater to your audience. But I will also advise to create and share content that you like. It’s your channel and your creative space, so don’t be afraid to change things up, nor should you apologize for it.
Tip #6: Be authentic and tell a good story: the best thing you can do to grow your channel is to be authentic about YOU. As a youtube content creator, we’re all telling stories to get the attention of the viewer. And when you tell a good story about your and your own experiences, it’s almost inevitable to be successful on youtube.
