As some of you know, my own pilot training has been well documented on this channel. And part of what I try to do with Mojogrip is to help get more people in the pilot seat and in the skies. Becoming a pilot is a commitment, it will cost you time and money. And where you train will highly affect how much time or money you end up spending on your training,
With the Sling pilot academy, you’re enrolling for a full ride; from newbie all the way to commercial pilot. This program is not like what you have at a regular flight school where you pay as you go. Think of this as going to a 4 year college. Except your training will only take 9 months to finish. As an enrolled student, you will attend ground school and fly from Monday to Friday. And you’re not in time competition with tons of other pilots to rent an airplane because there would only be 5 of you.
Sling Pilot Academy currently have a fleet of 5 modern aircraft, and this initial enrollment, they are only taking in 5 students, so pretty much a student to an airplane. In my years of flying and flight training, I don’t know of any other schools or program that offer the same flexibility.
The program cost $62,595. And below is everything that will be covered:
Private Pilot (PPL)
Instrument Rating (IR)
Commercial Single (CPLSE)
Commercial Multi Engine (CPLME)
Certified Flight Instructor Single Engine (CFISE)
Certified Flight Instructor Multi Engine (MEI)
Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII)
FAA Knowledge Tests: PAR, IRA, CAX, FIA, FII, FOI
They will get 280 hours total with us and commercial requires a minimum of 250 hours.
Our hours are:
Single Engine
200 hours
Multi Engine
30 hours
Simulator Time
100 hours*
*50 hours on an FAA approved simulator – we are talking to Redbird right now and will be buying their FMX Sim.
To get ATP they will need 1500 hours so this will come later after they have 1500 hours and move on to a part 121 airline (regional). So they will get their ATP when they move on to a regional – the regional covers the cost of this.
