I Had A Very Short Window To Get My Butt Out Of Here
Like many other pilots around the country, I had a flight where I just needed to wait it out and let the weather clear up. This was a case of go or no go decision. I had timed my takeoff to a particular hour in the day and if I wasn’t comfortable taking off by then, then this flight would have been a NO GO decision.
I was flying from Atlanta Georgia to Virginia. A 3-4 hours flight. There were expected weather coming in at my local airport but on my path, it was good weather to fly for the most part. So the challenge became how to successfully navigate local weather and get into clear skies.
Luckily my aircraft Sling 4 TSi https://youtu.be/cMY2QJQlkn8 is already equipped with radar weather equipment from Garmin and Sirius XM. That gave me the extra confidence to get in the air as I’m able to get updated weather information on my flight path.
