The aviation industry has been making a lot of noise about electric powered aircraft for over a decade now. We first checked out Bye aerospace in 2018 at Oshkosh, and they company has made some progress with their line of aircraft since then. Although still awaiting certification, a very expensive endeavor.

Here are the aircraft in Bye aerospace line up:
– eFlyer 2: This two-seat aircraft will change the way pilots train. The cost-efficient aircraft will enable new pilots to train without prohibitive fuel costs.

– eFlyer 4: developed from the smaller two-seat Bye Aerospace eFlyer 2. It features a cantilever low-wing, a four-seat enclosed cockpit under a bubble canopy, fixed tricycle landing gear with wheel pants and a single electric motor in tractor configuration. eFlyer 4 is more of the cross country machine with 2 additional seats.

– eFlyer 8: An eight-seat all-electric twin turbo-prop class airplane. Performance estimates for the eFlyer 800 include up to 320 knot cruise speed, 35,000 feet ceiling and 500 nm range with 45-minute IFR reserves at normal cruise speed of 280 knots. Safety features include two wing-mounted electric motors, each with dual redundant motor windings, quad-redundant battery packs and a full airplane parachute.
